Nothing Says You Can't Have Fun Doing This!

1113326577_3eb739a50a_mCircleNomics ™ is about applying certain disciplines to bringing quality relationships and profitable business into your circle. And then the real magic happens when the people in your circle invite others in.

That’s the key. But it doesn’t just happen.

In fact, it takes effort. Not work, mind you, but effort. Work implies something that isn’t fun. You have to have fun to be successful at this.

And quite frankly, what’s the point if you aren’t having fun?

The point is that you need to celebrate the process of interacting with people – you need to relish the challenges of connecting people – and you need to have a good time serving people – and feel great doing it.

I conducted a workshop with HVB Fast Friend Taryn Pisaneschi this past weekend. An essential theme from our workshop was about the importance of giving value and serving people. And if you go about networking and social media thinking first about helping people, and you have the right attitude about it, you really can have fun with it.

If you go about social networking focused on having to sell, sell, sell – well, that just isn’t any fun. And it is my theory that if you aren’t having any fun, or aren’t doing something memorable, then people will be less interested in joining your circle, let alone talking about you to others. People do want to spend time and associate with people who are fun to be around, especially if they know you are striving to bring value to them.

Want some examples of people having fun while serving people – and building community – all at the same time? Here are a few below. And please share other examples with us!

1. Just wait til you see how much fun Stone and I have with the High Velocity Radio Show!

2. How much fun do you think this guy has?

3. Here is the blog I wish I’d written, and tell me if this is something you wouldn’t want to be a part of…

4. The video below is from GapingVoid. He is an author, a cartoonist, and the USA marketing director for a South African vineyard. He is on a quest to sell this wine across Texas. He figures if he can sell it there, he can sell it anywhere. Watch the video below, and tell me this wouldn’t be a fun road trip, and an experience worth sharing…

If somebody campaigns on social networks and tries to “sell, sell, sell” they’ve already made a huge mistake. Social media marketing (blogs, twitter, facebook, Twitter, podcasts, etc.) success is attributed to the commitment of the marketer, not their campaign. You’re right on! Have fun!

Thanks for the comment Chris. I like how you say “commitment of marketer, not their campaign.” That’s a great way to phrasing it. Thanks for visiting!
